Overview/Opportunity

The Event/Opportunity

The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) will host the 2012 Federal Sector Conference, August 21 – 23, 2012. The goal of DBIA  is to use this conference to facilitate collaboration, education ,and information-sharing leading to enhanced professionalism in federal agency project delivery programs. The Conference will include networking as well as exploration of best practices and lessons learned by use of case studies and discussion, with perspectives provided from the federal agency/owner, designers, builders, and other members of the project delivery teams.

It has been over a decade since the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) changed to accommodate design-build project delivery, and some agencies in particular have utilized design-build extensively. With the current positive trend in the use of design-build and integrated project delivery, sparked in part by ARRA funding, demand from the federal marketplace has increased exponentially in the past several years. Now is the time to be positioned for inclusion in future federal projects.

Outstanding Networking Opportunity

The Conference will include over ten hours of exhibit time, including several featured networking sessions with food and beverages served:

  • Welcome Reception

  • Continental Breakfast

  • Luncheon

  • Networking Reception

  • Coffee Breaks

Join DBIA  along with hundreds of team leaders – designers, engineers, architects, planners, contracts and procurement experts, program and project managers – who will attend from the Federal sector, including those who have developed and continue to shape the procurement and selection process to bring facilities and other capital projects to completion on time and on budget.
